This robust Gothic Flanged Mace is crafted from steel and has a hollow haft with thick walls to ensure that it is both sturdy and not so heavy as to be unwieldy. The grip is bound in supple, stitched suede leather and completed with a wrist lanyard.

Like originals this mace is well-capable of pounding the most well-armored of foes into a battered defeat - its flanges concentrate the considerable force of a blow onto a small area and the wedge shaped mass of the flange behind this contact point further drives force and concussive power onto the target. Unlike bladed weapons or hammers, the multiple, all-encompassing flanges allow the user to strike in any direction without needing to concentrate on edge-alignment. Thus in a pell-mell melee the wielder of such a mace can freely strike as opportunity presents itself and from unpredictable angles - a highly desirable trait for a close-in and chaotic medieval scrum!

Please Note: While all-steel maces are sturdy they are not indestructible. They were designed for striking targets softer and less dense than the mace - namely warriors wearing steel armor which was considerably thinner than the mace flanges. Bashing a steel mace onto concrete roads, dense trees and wood beams, cinder blocks, I-beams and other hard or dense targets may result in bending the steel mace, damaging its flanges or causing other damage.
