This Fangtian Ji Chinese Polearm has a fetching, double-crescent halberd head made from folded steel. Creating blades from folded steel has a very long history and the Chinese did it to create blades that melded together the properties of soft, flexing steel and harder, edge-retaining steel.

The haft of this polearm is black-coated wood which is completed with highly-detailed, quality castings of antiqued solid brass. A red horsehair tassel completes the polearm.

The polearm ships in two pieces which are simply screwed together to complete assembly. It comes with a brocade-wrapped display and gift box of wood.

The Fangtian Ji, the Square Sky Halberd (also known as the Shuang Ji double halberd) is a Song Dynasty polearm which pairs a spearhead with a dual set of crescent blades. These blades were not only excellent chopping and puncturing weapons, but their outward-facing alignment made them excellent at deflecting and entangling oncoming strikes from a foes weapon. It is famously associated with LBu, who figures prominently in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms – he was said to have wielded such a weapon with legendary prowess.
